Intended Audience

This program is appropriate for pharmacy technicians, pharmacy students, as well as pharmacists or other healthcare providers who have had little or no previous training in this area. This training program is valuable in providing a program to learn the principles of I.V. admixture preparation and aseptic technique skills, it may also serve as a useful review reference if the pharmacy technician elects to take the national pharmacy technician certification exam.

Curriculum:

This module assumes no prior knowledge of drugs, equipment, or techniques on the part of the trainee; the only prerequisite is a basic understanding of mathematics. The module reviews the latest information on intravenous admixture practice and includes the June 2008 revisions to USP <797> guidelines.
